Wow, a new hotel in the north of Ibiza. I already had the experience of having a gorgeous dinner at the Giri Club in San Juan. Definitely have to check this out one day.

OLD FRENCH CONVERTED BARN

Josephine Gintzburger took an old barn of 4,300Sqm in Bourgogne, France and converted it into this beautiful and cozy family home. The mix of texture such as concrete and wood, vintage antique with contemporary, the thick wooden beams and the mix of old and new brings a special character to the place that makes feels like home!

ORFILLA FLAT - MADRID

Orfila Flat by Schneider Colao Architects
Located on a quiet street in the Chamberi neighborhood of central Madrid, the Orfila flat is a gut renovation intervened within a historic 19th century apartment building. The original 200 sq. meter flat contained a winding maze of rooms which were gutted to design a structural framework allowing for an open plan which brings together various domestic programs including sleeping quarters, office, living space, open shower, kitchen and terrace.

Movement Pop Up Cafe - London

I like the fresh, unpretentious and happy look of the temporary Movement Café and performance space built next to the DLR station in Greenwich, South East London. It was constructed in 16 days to be ready for the opening of the Olympics.

MISCONCEPTION OF BEAUTY by MAGNUS GJOEN

Magnus Gjoen's prints examines how to change peoples relationship and preconceived notions of objects. Something which is potentially extremely destructive can be made into beautiful yet fragile objects of art. It's this misconception of beauty which Magnus Gjoen wants us to see in a different light, being it weapons, animals or the human race itself. The latter which is capable of creating immense beauty but also capable of destroying it all. Taking inspiration from street and pop art and juxtapositioning it with fine art, he creates new and modern takes on old masterpieces or manipulates something powerful and strong into something fragile but beautiful. He often questions the correlation between religion, war, beauty & destruction in his art. Magnus Gjoen was born in London to Norwegian parents and studied design in London and Milan and works as a designer/graphic designer for Vivienne Westwood.
